A virtual discussion session for graduate students in the parallel treatment subject

College of Engineering at  Al- Iraqia University organized a virtual seminar (Sumner) in parallel processing with the participation of graduate students in the college.

The workshop included discussion of projects by students and divided them into research groups using Cisco Webex Meeting program. The workshop aims to expand the awareness of graduate students by engaging them in various research topics and introducing them to the methodology of scientific research and its requirements.

College of Law and Political Science at Al-Iraqia University discussed a master’s thesis on the legal implications of legal period in civil contracts).The thesis aimed at explaining the importance of the legal periods for the life of the contract and the entry of time as an essential element in the structure of the contract and for the importance of contracts in the reality of practical life. It also included a statement of the concept of the term (period), the relevant terms, types of terms, their divisions, limits by included many examples of contracts and the position of Iraqi legislator regarding the terms of the contract.

Reality of E-Learning in Graduate Studies a Workshop in College of Arts

College of Arts at Al- Iraqia University held its workshop named (The reality of e-learning in graduate studies, problems and solutions). The workshop was chaired by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Muthanna Naem Hammadi. The workshop was attended by heads of departments that (concerned with higher studies), Arabic language, Quranic sciences, history, and geography department.

The workshop included: Determining the reality of e-learning in graduate studies, the electronic experience, and the extent to which students benefit from electronic lectures.The aim of the workshop was to identify the problems experienced by students, especially in light of the weakness in Internet, and effective solutions that would deliver the materials to the maximum extent, by overcoming obstacles, finally the faculty members were directed to continue working and communicating  the scientific material to the students.

College of Medicine Publishes a Scientific Research in An International Journal

Asst. Prof.. Dr. Nadia Ghassan Abdel Kareem _ / Faculty of Medicine, University of Al Iraqia/ Clinical Biochemistry Branch ,Publishes a joint scientific research between Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Ministry of Health & Environment / Endocrinology and Diabetes Center under the title (Evaluation of Insulin Resistance According to the Obesity Grades in Iraqi non-diabetics adults) in the global magazine Biochemical and cellular Archives _2020; vol. 20 N, 1 (Issn 0972_5075)Within the Scopus Container.

*Research objective: Using laboratory analyzes of some biochemical indicators in the blood and measuring the body mass index to assess the extent of tissue resistance to insulin in adults without diabetes and with higher weights than normal, and to use the HOMA_IR model to show the relationship between obesity and insulin resistance.

The results of this research confirmed theories about the relationship between increased body weight and the emergence of metabolic syndrome, especially the development toward diabetes as well as early detection of the disease before they develop diabetes through determining insulin resistance accurately and easily using clinical applications, laboratory models and physical measurements.

An Electronic Workshop on National Classification of Iraqi Universities Quality

Department of English / College of Education for Girls at Al-Iraqia University held an electronic workshop entitled (an interactive electronic workshop on the national classification of the quality of Iraqi universities), presented by Prof. Dr. Reem Zaid and M. Asmaa Asaad.

The workshop included a detailed explanation of general definition of the concept of quality of university education and the national classification of the quality of universities in addition to discussing the importance of university classification and the features of the national classification.

The workshop aimed to identify the axes of the national classification form for the quality of Iraqi universities, which includes the axis of scientific research, quality improvement, programmatic accreditation and axis of scientific activities in addition to strengthening power points, addressing weaknesses and defects , and finding appropriate solutions to them.
