Council of Al-Iraqia university held its 3rd session under the chairmanship of Assistant for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Tamimi, and with presence of all members of the Council, to discuss the topics listed on the session’s agenda.
The third session included discussion of several important topics, including the nomination of university teachers to be members of Iraqi Scientific Academy, discussion of the start of new academic year and regularity of graduate studies students with adhering to preventive measures and preserving social distancing for safety of everyone, as well as extending teaching service to some of teaching staff, in addition to approval to postgraduate students applications for an extension for a period of 6 months.
The university signed a memorandum of understanding with IRID International Platform to develop scientific, academic and research cooperation and exchange academic experiences between them and support the scientific research movement and experts for Arabic speakers. The agreement included the exchange of educational, academic, technical and administrative consultations, direct cooperation agreements or contracts in educational, technical, artistic and academic fields, besides implementation of joint educational and technical projects and programs, as well as the holding of specialized training courses in various scientific and humanitarian fields.
Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Jubouri, Rector of Al-Iraqia University, said that this agreement represents a basic partnership between the University and the International IRED platform for researchers and Arabic-speaking experts, which is based in Malaysia, on many issues of interest in general and in the field of research and scientific conferences in its various forms in privately to encourage scholars and researchers and to enhance cultural and scientific cooperation between the two parties on a larger scale.
Prof. Dr. Khamis Awad Zidan ,Rector Assistant for scientific affairs, confirmed that Al- Iraqia University seeks to enhance cooperation with many Arab and international universities and scientific platforms, aiming to develop strategies, policies, plans and educational programs and build institutional and human capacities that give distinction to our University among its peers from Iraqi universities.
It is worth noting that IRED platform is a non-profit scientific platform dedicated to Arabic- researchers that allows them to document their professional and academic careers and share experiences with their peers from scientists, experts and researchers in order to keep pace with the technical developments and to achieve benefit of the Arab community.
Within the framework of joint scientific and academic cooperation, Al- Iraqia University, in cooperation with the University of Duhok, will hold the fourth joint international scientific conference under the Logan# The Impact of Scientific Research on Achieving Education Objectives), on Wednesday and Thursday, corresponding to December 16-17, 2020, on Al-Assasyaha Education halls at University of Duhok. President of Al- Iraqia University, Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein Al-Jubouri, accompanied by his Assistant for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Khamis Zaidan, inspected laboratories and halls of Faculty of Dentistry at Adhamiya Colleges Complex.During the visit they inspected devices and equipment provided by the college, college’s preparations to supply halls with modern equipment from approved origins, and identifying the most prominent needs and measures that will be taken in the new academic year.
Dr. Ali Al- Jubouri affirmed that measures will be taken to limit spreading of Corona virus and to emphasize compliance with the instructions issued by the Ministry.
