Council of Al Iraqia University held its ninth session, headed by Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein, Rector of the University, on Monday 6/29, in presence of all its members to discuss the its agenda. The Council discussed several important decisions, most notably, the exceptional extension of the duration of graduate students’, and their critical degrees.
The Council also approved many research plans submitted of researchers for academic year 2019-2020, as well as granting scientific promotions to teaching members, in addition to a set of administrative, scientific, and technical matters.
Center for Research and Studies at Al-Iraqia University held an electronic workshop in cooperation with the Office of Rector of the University entitled “Protection of the right to health within the framework of international and internal law”. During the workshop Dr. Jamil Hussein Dhamin lectured about topic of citizen’s health rights and possibility of obtaining his right of care and health care fairly in accordance with international and local law.
The workshop clarified the concept of right to seek and obtain health information, which must be available to all, just as health efforts must be available to the citizen and meet his needs, and this is what international and internal law affirmed.
Center for Development and Continuing Education at University at the university announces establishment of a teaching methods course for postgraduate (Masters and PhD) via e-learning, which is on Wednesday, 1/7 for two weeks. The Federation of International Universities announced the accession of Al- Iraqia University to the Federation after fulfills the provisions contained in the Federation’s executive regulations.
Dr. Dureid Yahya, director of the Department of Missions and Cultural Relations at the University, said that the accession came with attention and direct follow-up from the President of Al- Iraqia University, Professor Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein al-Jubouri, to activate this accession, pointed out, “Membership in the International Federation of Universities contributes to improving the university’s performance by enriching studies and research, developing curricula, as well as improving quality of education, and spreading culture and education on a wider scale.”
The joining of the University came to communicate with various universities, institutes, centers of studies, research, consulting, and what coming of educational activities and services, and to market them to spread knowledge, in addition to organizing conferences, seminars and scientific lectures.
The Scholarships and Cultural Relations Department at Al- Iraqia University announced that scholarships for a PhD from the University of Southampton in United Kingdom are available, after receiving an official letter from Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Dr. Duraid Yahya, Director of Cultural Relations and Scholarships Department at the university said that these scholarships included many different specializations, indicating that conditions for submission, fees of the scholarship and deadline for registration are available on the link in the official letter below.
Al- Iraqi University called on its graduate students who did not complete study requirements and who ended their relationship with study (due to failure or failure to complete the study requirements) to submit their applications to return to the study seats , on the private expenditure channel for the academic year 2020-2021.
Prof. Asst. Dr. Essam Mahmoud Mohammed, Director of Graduate Studies Affairs at the University Presidency, said that the ministry has issued an official letter in this regard that requires the employees to bring a new study leave within a period of 60 days from date of return. He added that the decision included students who did not benefit from previous return decisions and applying according to the conditions and contexts in force.
