Assistant lecturer, Falah Taher Rahima, Director of Media and Public Relations Department at Al- Iraqia University in was hosted in a program of Iraq Republic Radio (with official) to talk about the success of e-learning at the university in light of the new Corona virus spreading.
The concept of e-learning, its educational tools and platforms, methods and plans developed by Presidency of the University were discussed to achieve the highest rates of success in its application.
Mr. Rahima said that e-learning is one of learning methods in communicating information to the learner, and its applications include learning via the web through virtual classrooms and digital cooperation, the content of lessons is presented via Internet, audio and video tapes, and through digital means to deliver the educational material. He added that the university has succeeded in applying e-learning in all its faculties according to the directives of Rector of Al- Iraqia University, Prof. Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Jubouri and his Assistants, in achieving the highest standards of success, scientific lectures and examinations were given through e-learning and its various applications, and all colleges achieved high levels of success.
During the meeting, Dr. Muzaffar Al Dhufiri, director of Computer and Internet Center at the university, was contacted to talk about department ‘s employees’ efforts in providing technical support for all university activities that meet the university’s ambition, Dr. Dhufiri also praised efforts of the university colleges that led to success of e-learning in the current period.
Research and Studies Center at Al Iraqia University held the first international conference on digital education in light of the Corona pandemic, with participation of 150 research papers in various fields of human sciences.
Professor Dr. Ali Saleh Hussein Al-Jubouri, Rector of Al Iraqia University ,said that the conference aims to adopt possible alternatives to continue wheel of learning and scientific research and to find solutions to many research problems facing the world at large in light of the new Corona virus pandemic.
Al-Jubouri added that the university was keen to organize international conferences and forums this year (electronically) supported by Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to be a motivation for all researchers to enrich the educational process with their researches and participation, and e-learning would be an integral part of the research and development process, in addition to discussing problems facing different sectors in all fields, as well as contributing to raising the quality of digital education.
Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations at Al- Iraqia University announced issuance of a new update to the guide for scholarships on private expense from the Evaluation Department and Equivalence of Certificates in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Dr. Dureid Yahya, director of Scholarships and Cultural Relations department said that “the Ministry updated the lists of scholarship universities on private expense according to sound scientific and academic standards,” noting that ” the new update that was published on website of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research “will be approved, and the committee took into consideration diversity of specializations that allow the student to choose freely .
